    Titanium Carbide Powder

    Titanium carbide is a kind of carbide with gray black appearance. The chemical formula is TiC and the molecular weight is 59.89. The melting point is 3140 ± 90 ℃, boiling point 4820 ℃, relative density 4.93. Titanium carbide is insoluble in water, but soluble in nitric acid and aqua regia. According to different shapes, titanium carbide powder can be divided into irregular titanium carbide powder, spherical titanium carbide powder, and agglomerated spherical titanium carbide powder. According to the different particle sizes, titanium carbide powder can be further divided into coarse titanium carbide powder, fine titanium carbide powder, extremely fine titanium carbide powder, ultrafine titanium carbide powder, and nano titanium carbide powder.

    Titanium Carbide Powder Application

    Titanium carbide powder has the characteristics of high hardness, corrosion resistance, and good thermal stability, and can be used as an additive for cutting tool materials. It can also be used as a melting crucible for bismuth, zinc, and cadmium metals, to prepare semiconductor wear-resistant films, as well as for HDD large capacity memory devices, and as a metal ceramic.     Irregular Titanium Carbide Powder

    Irregular titanium carbide powder is mainly used to manufacture cermets, heat-resistant alloys, and hard alloys. Adding 6-30% TiC to the Wc Co based hard alloy to form a TiC-WC solid melt with WC can significantly improve the alloy's red heat resistance, wear resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and other properties, making it more suitable for processing steel than WC Co hard alloy. Tungsten free hard alloys can also be made using alloys such as Ni Mo as binders, which can improve turning speed, precision, and smoothness of machined parts. The details are as follows:

    Spherical Titanium Carbide Powder

    Spherical titanium carbide powder is a type of spherical titanium carbide powder prepared by plasma spheroidization process using irregular titanium carbide powder raw materials. Compared to agglomerated titanium carbide powder, spherical titanium carbide powder has better flowability. It is commonly used in the following occasions and fields:

    Spherical Titanium Carbide Powder (Aggregated)

    Spherical TiC granulated powder is made of 100-300 nm submicron ultrafine TiC powder. It has the advantages of fine particle size, good fluidity, low oxygen content and low cost. Spherical titanium carbide powder can greatly reduce the sintering temperature of ceramic products, refine the grains and improve the mechanical properties. In addition, spherical TiC powder is loose and can be depolymerized and dispersed by conventional means, and can be mixed with other powders evenly.
